Tagging...

Ginette tagged Edwin who in turn tagged me...

I'm supposed to write 24 weird/quirky things about myself. Whatever lah. I thought it was too much of a hassle. Such time can be better spent on finding interesting photos of Ebihara Yuri.

Aquaman/ Mercy Reef

Apparently, no network is picking this up. Hey, it has Ving Rhames and women in skimpy bikinis in it. Are they insane?!

One more week...

I dunno if the story's gonna be as good as the first 2. But I'm sure the action sequences will be over the top and plentiful...

Courts in Singapore come under scrutiny...

Where do I apply to register my blog as a political blog?

Check this article out.

It seems like...

a) ... we are sorted for Coldplay on Mon 10 July. Going with Max. Hope the fucker got the tickets already! Will be crashing with the Camra boys as well. I knew those guys were into Coldplay! I could tell from their music. Hurhur... I love to say that to irritate them.

b) ... for Mogwai on 1 August, it's a bit complicated. I've got quite a few groups of friends which are going. The Camra boys, Billy and his bitch Grace, Fuzz, Yeeyong, Bryan, Edwin, the Documentary In Amber guys, Linda and quite a few folks from the MrMisse forum as well. Probably Adlin will haul his ass down from KL for this as well. Perhaps, we should all book our seats together. Will be definitely more fun to watch the show together. I'd bring a pillow this time. Fell asleep for the Tortoise one.

Check out Billy's blog for some Mogwai live stuff.

However, I don't think Max will be that interested. His core musical love is still 'pussy music'. Gotta love the dude!

c) ... Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler's reunion as The Tears is short-lived.

message from brett
hi everyone. thought i'd come on here and break the silence. i guess everyone wants to know what's going on so here it is.well there's not much tears stuff happening at the moment to be honest but no one ever wanted this thing to get caught up within the drudgery of the whole tour/record/tour cycle anyway. it was always supposed to be something special that we did for the purest of motives so we will make a new record if and when we feel like it . having spent the last fifteen years of my life caught up in the grinding machinery of the music business i really would have learned nothing if i'd just wanted to merrilly jump back onto it's sweaty saddle.

however, since december last year i have been hard at work writing and re-recording my debut solo record and it's all pretty much done now . i don't have a release date yet but realistically it's gonna be very early next year. i believe it's right up there with some of my best work but you will be able to make up your own minds when i play some warm up shows in the second half of 2006. a brett anderson website is on it's way and i will post the link when i'm happy with it.

'till then be happy, Brett

Somehow, I reckon the highly anticipated album didn't burn up the charts. Ah well, maybe he can perform at the Bangkok 100 Rock Fest in 2008!!! Then again, Simon Gilbert is saying that they might wanna reform Suede. Hmmm... the plot thickens...

Hmmmm...

Saw the latest Richard Ashcroft album at work. Prolly I should borrow it and take a listen. Robin mentioned that it's pretty decent. I had sampled his lyrics from the new album 'Keys To The World'. Let's just say that he's like Brett Anderson. They are running outta steam in the lyrical department. While Dick was never an poet in particular, he was functional and good in his own way.

Well, if Bangkok 100 Rock Festival were to return in 2007, they should seriously consider getting him to perform to continue the Ian Brown tradition this year. Frontmen of classic cult bands in their solo careers. Would be interesting.

In other news, Keane is set to release their second album in June. Which reminds me that I still haven't gotten the latest from The Flaming Lips, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Astreal, David Gilmour and one more which I can't recall...

Our boy returns...

Stating the obvious...

Me, Fuzz and Adlin (who came down yet again from KL) were talking about how sometimes people can really run out of things to say. Especially, folks who hardly know each other bump into each other in the most awkward situations. That doesn't help to build conversation.

Example 1
When I was having meepok for lunch in a food court a couple of weeks ago, someone I met briefly came up and said hi. The first thing he asked: "Having lunch ar?"

Example 2
At a Zara sale, you are queuing to pay for your clothes. An old nemesis bumped into you accidently. "Oh it's you. Buying clothes ar?"

It's a goddamned self-defense mechanism which everyone is guilty of. It's true. I guess, sometimes it breaks the ice when you obviously have nothing to relate to the other person. However, it can be quite fun to irritate each other with it.

Reading my blog entry ar?

H.A.I.R.

Since last July or so, I've been getting pretty busy with other stuff than to devote myself to search for the monthly Her Ass Is Righteous chick. That shit just pulls in the readers, I swear.

Anyway, I've seen some jifs of this recent Japanese model, Reon Kadena who I believe quite a few guys out there are very much acquainted with her works (sic).

Very nice indeed.

The Love Experiment loves KL part 1

Why the big smile on Adlin's face? Weiyuan was groping his crotch a few minutes before this photo was taken.

Ronnie of furniture which is getting yet another line-up change.

Adlin's band, Lied. Very angsty by nature. Must be Weiyuan is not groping him enough.

Us on stage. Yay!

It was a great trip, despite the fact that we lost Alvin's MicroKorg before the show started. Which sucked. And it was Alvin's 2004 Children's Day present. No, I'm not shitting you...

No fucken way...

Was reading through Edwin's blog. He was talking about the Britrock group which refuses to die (I'm not talking about Oasis), The Charlatans. I didn't know he listens to them. I thought he was only about the serious soundart.

This is rather interesting cuz' the only other person I know who still speaks about The Charlatans so fondly is Max. He caught them live in the UK a few years back when he was studying there. Nice.

But strangely, listening to The Charlatans these days is like listening to The Scorpions eh? The music is not 'fresh' or 'hip' anymore. It basically captures an era when we were all young.

Anyways, once I'd get all the photos from Adlin I'd write a bit about our trip up north last Friday.
